Accessorise With Style

Accessorise With Style

Wearing a statement accessory not only adds sparkle and elevates an outfit but takes your style to a whole new level! While a timeless piece, such as a pair of beautiful pearl earrings, will always complement and finish off whatever you are wearing, no matter the occasion. Have you ever wondered where the idea of accessories came from and why we add that little bit extra to our everyday look?  Let us explore this fashion trend together Cake Lover!

It is hardly a trend, actually, when one learns that necklaces were worn by ancient civilisations as far back as 40 000 years ago!  We won’t ask you to imagine that far back, dear reader, but will research a little closer to our era. The term ‘accessory’ only came into use in the 20th century, and before that, items were referred to as adornments. Either way, they were worn or carried.  We want you to know that you can also eat them – is a garnish not a cake accessory? Oh yes it is, and you can eat all the delicious strawberries or figs piled high on top of an Andrea’s Baked Cheesecake from Château Gâteaux. A simply delicious cake with a simple and delicious adornment! Be on the look out for cake styling tips from our friends from TastyMoments who teach you how to decorate and accessorise your delicious Château Gâteaux treats!

Accessories express an individual’s personality and identity. Depending on the shape, size and colour of the accessory, one can instantly recognise a bold or quiet personality, a bright and outgoing personality, or a daring and adventurous personality. How about someone who wears an oversized silky scrunchy in her hair?  Well, it tells you all, doesn’t it?  This is someone who would absolutely love to tuck into our Chocolate Mozart Cake - layers of soft meringue, filled with generous silky servings of chocolate cream topped with swirls of white chocolate shards and decorated with sprigs of sweet-smelling spring jasmine.

Victorian ladies favoured beautifully patterned fans and parasols, and gloves were everyday wear. They wore brooches, necklaces and bangles – earrings not so much back then!  All of these items indicated a leisurely lifestyle and complemented their bustled, full-length dresses perfectly.  Men were particularly interested in teaming up their outfits with embroidered or patterned waistcoats, silk cravats, a cane (whether needed or not), pocket watch, cuff links and a top hat. We want to team up with you with an out-of-the-box, from frozen to fabulous Mousse au Chocolat – a perfect cake to top with honeycomb bites and curls of shaved chocolate to give the dressed-up man in your life a treat to remember.

When that special occasion comes around, and you want to wow your date, all you need do is put on your super slinky Louis Vuitton shoes (a girl can dream!), put in those statement earrings, make sure those nails are perfectly polished – or not, and your outfit is complete. As complete as a sprinkling of blueberries and raspberries make a Chocolate Nostalgia Cake – what a scrumptious combination.

Don’t forget that sunglasses and hats, belts and buckles, scarves and ties, socks and stockings, clips and clutches and even nail polish, and make-up complement your unique look and make you who you are. Like sparklers and candles, sprinkles and sweeties, cake toppers, flowers and fruit complement every gourmet Gâteaux from Chateau.
