Cake Father’s Day Extra Special with Château Gâteaux
We can hardly believe that a year has whizzed by since our blog Honouring our Phenomenal Fathers - for all that they have done (and still do) for us. We suggested then that our loyal cake lovers start a tradition of gifting gorgeously delicious Château Gâteaux cakes to your fabulous Dads each Father’s Day. Our cake creations even come ‘wrapped’ for you in our signature ‘Razzberry’ boxes! The opportunity is around the corner, as Father’s Day falls on June 19. We want you to be good and ready to celebrate with this amazing man in your life. Book the date with him, and order or pick up your cake pronto so you can make sure to get him his favourite-favourite!
Instead of writing a card wouldn’t it be great to write a personal message to your Dad on the cake you’re gifting him? Of course, it would. Here’s how easy it is to show your father figure some LOVE. On a smoothly frosted cake like our velvety Mousse au Chocolat, our decadent Andrea’s Baked Cheesecake, creamy Baked Chocolate Cheesecake, or our luxurious B-1 cake (wow, what a choice!), you can write your personalised message in chocolate letters. Pop into your local grocery shop and buy a slab of either white or milk chocolate, opposite to the colour of your cake topping. Choose a broad font on your computer and print out your message. Take a piece of wax paper and place it over your printed text on a small cutting board. Melt your chocolate gently in a double boiler and transfer into a squeeze bottle. Now for the fun bit - trace over the letters with the chocolate onto the wax paper by squeezing the bottle. If you mess up a letter, wipe it off and do it again. Allow the chocolate to FULLY harden by putting the board in the fridge. When hard and dry, gently lift the letters off the wax paper using a thin sharp knife and place them on the cake. The letters will be delicate, so handle with care.
