Traditional Festive Table

Traditional Festive Table

Traditional With a Twist & Our Caramel Mozart

Green and red are the visual representation of this particular time of year – the minute you see these colours together, you know that the holiday season is upon us and all that it means jump immediately to mind. Like spending time with your loved ones, decorating your home; making sure it is joyful and welcoming, choosing and wrapping presents and preparing and cooking your festive, family feast. Holiday season is a happy, busy time, and Château Gâteaux is here to help you make your celebrations that much sweeter with one of our exceptional quality creations

Which one of our creations will you serve your family this festive season (after all, we're doing the baking these holidays)? And which one of our beautiful festive table ideas will capture your imagination? Over the next four weeks, we will present you with our series of four gorgeous options for decorating your festive table, starting with a twist on the traditional table setting. Look no further for you holiday hosting inspiration!

Meet the first in our series of four festive tables – “Traditional with a Twist”. What's the twist? Well, we've chosen to apply different tones to the inspirational evergreen and Santa red to our table setting, and the result is stunning. We have created a super-stylish Christmas festive table using deep pink velvety proteas and soft grey-green eucalyptus leaves (Baby Blue, Silver Dollar or Seeded cuttings are all lovely) as the centrepiece. If proteas aren't available, try dark pink hydrangeas – abundant at this time of year, or what about gerberas? The range of gerbera pinks is breathtaking. To finish off, add a few glittery spangles, and by keeping the rest of the table simply white or cream, your gorgeous decorations will POP!

Caramel Mozart

Now that you have set the stage, bring on the main attraction. Our Caramel Mozart topped with pomegranate seeds is the touch of elegance that will make your table the envy of your guests! Let us tell you a little about the star of the show – it is made with layers of soft meringue and shortbread, caramel cream, caramel swirls, and then topped with a shortbread biscuit crumble. It is heavenly and quite delicious!

There is much debate about the origins of meringue – some say that it was a Swiss invention, some that it was French or Italian and others that it was English!! In an early seventeenth-century translation of a French recipe book, the word meringue was used, but in even earlier English recipe books, the recognisable mixture of stiffly beaten egg whites and sugar was referred to as 'white biskit-bread' and 'pets'. Meringues are scrumptious no matter what you call them and are eaten as small kisses or as toppings for desserts. One thing is for sure dear reader, we have absolutely no doubt that we have perfected our version of the meringue with our creamy, crumbly Caramel Mozart! YUM!

You can place your Caramel Mozart order right now, pop it in the freezer (hmmm, maybe you will need two if the whole family are joining you for your festive feast!), so all you have to think about is defrosting in time for your festivities.  Château Gâteaux, your helping-hand this Christmas.
